Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Day at Gatton by Sam Fullbrook was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in August 2005. The price achieved of AUD 2,390.00 (€ 1,456.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sam Fullbrook achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Nocturne With Aeroplane And Fishes in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 38,400.00 (€ 22,962.30).
