This artwork by Samuel Prout achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November 2020. In the British and European Art auction, the work Fisherman near Plymouth sold for GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,565.66) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Admittedly, works by Samuel Prout have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Arch of St Mark'S, Venice, With Figures In Oriental Costume In The Foreground; And The Arch of Constantine, Rome in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,684.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Samuel Prout erzielte im November 2020 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and European Art wurde die Arbeit Fisherman near Plymouth für GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.565,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Samuel Prout auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Arch of St Mark'S, Venice, With Figures In Oriental Costume In The Foreground; And The Arch of Constantine, Rome im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.684,44).
