The work The End Of The Day - Sunset by Samuel Palmer was sold in the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction at Sothebys in London in July 2019. It achieved a price of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 41,172.51), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Palmer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Shepherd leading his flock under the full moon in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 1,588,000.00 (€ 1,862,259.27).

Die Arbeit The End Of The Day - Sunset von Samuel Palmer wurde im Juli 2019 in der Auktion Old Master & British Works on Paper bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 41.172,51) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Palmer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Shepherd leading his flock under the full moon im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.588.000,00 (€ 1.862.259,27).
