A top price for Samuel John Stump - as previously expected
The work John Bull as a student, in a black cap and gown, white shirt and knotted cravat by Samuel John Stump was sold in the The Gordon Collection of Portrait Miniatures auction at Christies in London in November 2007. The price achieved of GBP 500.00 (€ 700.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, John Bull as a student, in a black cap and gown, white shirt and knotted cravat is the most expensive artwork by Samuel John Stump that we have observed at auctions so far.
