Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction British & Continental Paintings, which included the work Before The Race; The Race by Samuel Alken Junior. The price achieved of GBP 3,625.00 (€ 5,205.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Alken Junior achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Leaving The Kennel; And Full Cry in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 109,000.00 (€ 70,015.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British & Continental Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Before The Race; The Race von Samuel Alken Junior zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.625,00 (€ 5.205,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Alken Junior erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Leaving The Kennel; And Full Cry im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 109.000,00 (€ 70.015,42).
