Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Notes to Highbury Hall #2 by Sam Reveles was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 625.00 (€ 529.08). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sam Reveles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fatherless Eurotas in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,639.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Notes to Highbury Hall #2 von Sam Reveles im September 2017 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 625,00 (€ 529,08) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sam Reveles erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fatherless Eurotas im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.639,72).
