The price achieved of GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,212.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sam Morse Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The crucifixion of humanity, which sold at auction in August 2006 for GBP 5,400.00 (€ 8,030.14).
