A top price for Sam Leach - as previously expected
The work Australian Cryomoderator by Sam Leach was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2009. The price achieved of AUD 6,600.00 (€ 4,024.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Australian Cryomoderator is the most expensive artwork by Sam Leach that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Australian Cryomoderator von Sam Leach kam im November 2009 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 6.600,00 (€ 4.024,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Australian Cryomoderator das teuerste Kunstwerk von Sam Leach, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
