Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February last year Christies in New York held the auction Outsider Art, which included the work Portrait of Jesus in Profile by Sam Doyle. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,895.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sam Doyle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work I'll Hit You Man in January this year with an auction result of USD 45,360.00 (€ 41,775.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Jesus in Profile von Sam Doyle zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.895,58) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sam Doyle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit I'll Hit You Man im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.360,00 (€ 41.775,65).
