Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Salomon van Ruysdael could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work A river landscape with sailing boats, possibly a view on the Wijkermeer | 《河上帆船風景，應為維格米爾的景觀》 changed hands for GBP 63,000.00 (€ 70,376.61) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Salomon van Ruysdael achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wijdschip And Other Small Dutch Vessels At The Mouth Of An Estuary in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,077,000.00 (€ 2,725,420.73).
