Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Moth Femmage by Sally Smart was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in May 2005. It changed hands for a price of AUD 2,868.00 (€ 1,762.98) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sally Smart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Fox Sister - Rapping And Tapping in November 2004 with an auction result of AUD 14,340.00 (€ 8,352.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Moth Femmage von Sally Smart kam im Mai 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 2.868,00 (€ 1.762,98) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sally Smart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Fox Sister - Rapping And Tapping im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 14.340,00 (€ 8.352,65).
