Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Tree House (For A Sentimental Seamstress) by Sally Smart was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 7,200.00 (€ 3,712.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sally Smart - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Fox Sister - Rapping And Tapping, which sold at auction in November 2004 for AUD 14,340.00 (€ 8,352.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian Tree House (For A Sentimental Seamstress) von Sally Smart wurde im November 2008 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 7.200,00 (€ 3.712,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
