Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Joan Of Arc by Sally James Farnham was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,798.40). Other works by Sally James Farnham have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2014 by the work Two Elephants at USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,761.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Joan Of Arc von Sally James Farnham im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.798,40) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Sally James Farnham wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juni 2014 die Arbeit Two Elephants mit USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.761,14).
