This artwork by Sally James Farnham achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2008. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Portrait of Enos S. Booth sold for USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,882.47) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sally James Farnham; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Two Elephants sold at auction in June 2014 with the realized price of USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,761.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sally James Farnham erzielte im September 2008 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Portrait of Enos S. Booth für USD 6.875,00 (€ 4.882,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Sally James Farnham; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Two Elephants im Juni 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.761,14).
