In April 2013 Christies in Dubai held the auction Modern and Contemporary Arab,Iranian and Turkish Art Part I, which included this untitled work by Saliba Douaihy. The »bidding war« ended at USD 93,750.00 (€ 71,195.32), 56% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Saliba Douaihy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 336,500.00 (€ 288,346.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 56 % übertroffen
Im April 2013 führte Christies in Dubai die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Arab,Iranian and Turkish Art Part I durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Saliba Douaihy zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 93.750,00 (€ 71.195,32) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Saliba Douaihy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 336.500,00 (€ 288.346,19).
