The work White peony by Sakai Doitsu was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2012. The result of USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,749.81) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sakai Doitsu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Birds and flowers, which sold at auction in September 2008 for USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,315.82).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit White peony von Sakai Doitsu wurde im März 2012 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.749,81) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sakai Doitsu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Birds and flowers beobachtet, die im September 2008 für USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.315,82) versteigert wurde.
