Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Chasen odori (Tea whisk dance) by Sakai Doitsu was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,687.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sakai Doitsu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Birds and flowers in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,315.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Chasen odori (Tea whisk dance) von Sakai Doitsu wurde im März 2012 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.250,00 (€ 1.687,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sakai Doitsu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Birds and flowers im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.315,82).
