A top price for Sakai Doitsu - as previously expected
In September 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese & Korean Art, which included the work Birds and flowers by Sakai Doitsu. It changed hands for a price of USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,315.82) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Birds and flowers is the most expensive artwork by Sakai Doitsu that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im September 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese & Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Birds and flowers von Sakai Doitsu zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.315,82) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Birds and flowers das teuerste Kunstwerk von Sakai Doitsu, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
