Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June this year Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Two Figures) by Sadequain. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 14,080.00 (€ 16,386.70), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sadequain have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Qalandar in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 173,000.00 (€ 154,990.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Two Figures) von Sadequain zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 14.080,00 (€ 16.386,70) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sadequain auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Qalandar im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 173.000,00 (€ 154.990,15).
