In November 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian The Sea Front, Bandol by Rupert Bunny. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 50,400.00 (€ 30,732.77), 68% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rupert Bunny achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Femme Lisant in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 301,250.00 (€ 333,277.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im November 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian The Sea Front, Bandol von Rupert Bunny zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 50.400,00 (€ 30.732,77) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rupert Bunny erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Femme Lisant im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 301.250,00 (€ 333.277,13).
