Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian Portrait Of The Artist'S Wife by Rupert Bunny. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 64,800.00 (€ 38,097.20). Admittedly, works by Rupert Bunny have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Femme Lisant in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 301,250.00 (€ 333,277.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Portrait Of The Artist'S Wife von Rupert Bunny zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 64.800,00 (€ 38.097,20) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rupert Bunny auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Femme Lisant im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 301.250,00 (€ 333.277,13).
