This artwork by Rudolf von Alt achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. In the Master Paintings auction, the work Courtyard Of The Doge'S Palace, Venice sold for USD 132,300.00 (€ 108,495.98) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Rudolf von Alt; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Austrian der Konstantinbogen Und Das Kolosseum In Rom (The Arch Of Constantine And The Colosseum, Rome) sold at auction in November 2013 with the realized price of GBP 140,500.00 (€ 169,072.95).
