In July 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Canal In Venice by Rudolf von Alt. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 40,000.00 (€ 43,917.34), 33% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rudolf von Alt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Austrian der Konstantinbogen Und Das Kolosseum In Rom (The Arch Of Constantine And The Colosseum, Rome), which sold at auction in November 2013 for GBP 140,500.00 (€ 169,072.95).
