Upper estimate price exceeded by 50 %.
In July 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work Gate Of The Church Of Nonnberg Abbey, Salzburg by Rudolf von Alt. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,500.00 (€ 6,379.49), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rudolf von Alt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Austrian der Konstantinbogen Und Das Kolosseum In Rom (The Arch Of Constantine And The Colosseum, Rome) in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 140,500.00 (€ 169,072.95).
