Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Darlene, a seqüestrada by Rubens Gerchman was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Christies in New York in May 2013. The auction ended at the price of USD 20,000.00 (€ 15,398.83), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rubens Gerchman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Virgem dos labios de mel, which sold at auction in June 2000 for USD 41,125.00 (€ 43,085.39).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Darlene, a seqüestrada von Rubens Gerchman wurde im Mai 2013 in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 15.398,83) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rubens Gerchman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Virgem dos labios de mel beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für USD 41.125,00 (€ 43.085,39) versteigert wurde.
