Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Negative Intimacy by Rubén Torres Llorca was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,025.06). Other works by Rubén Torres Llorca have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October this year by the work Nosotros, los de entonces, ya no somos los mismos at USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,749.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Negative Intimacy von Rubén Torres Llorca im Mai 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.375,00 (€ 6.025,06) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Rubén Torres Llorca wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres die Arbeit Nosotros, los de entonces, ya no somos los mismos mit USD 8.190,00 (€ 7.749,81).
