Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Un toque de cariño; and four companion works by Rubén Méndez was auctioned at Christies in New York in June 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 625.00 (€ 456.54). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rubén Méndez achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Six Works: Untitled in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,812.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Un toque de cariño; and four companion works von Rubén Méndez im Juni 2014 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 625,00 (€ 456,54) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rubén Méndez erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Six Works: Untitled im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.812,13).
