Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash: Featuring Artists of the South of France, which included the work Whaam! by Roy Lichtenstein. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,080.00 (€ 3,457.63), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Prints & MultiplesSummer Splash: Featuring Artists of the South of France durch, in der auch die Arbeit Whaam! von Roy Lichtenstein zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.080,00 (€ 3.457,63) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
