Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2000 Christies in Los Angeles held the auction MODERN, POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART, which included the work Modern Sculpture with Intersecting Arches by Roy Lichtenstein. Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 30,550.00 (€ 32,541.54). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2000 führte Christies in Los Angeles die Auktion MODERN, POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Modern Sculpture with Intersecting Arches von Roy Lichtenstein zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 30.550,00 (€ 32.541,54) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
