Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work The Castaways, 1975 by Roy De Forest for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,453.28). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Online at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Roy De Forest have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Steamship of Fate in July 2015 with an auction result of USD 68,750.00 (€ 62,341.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Castaways, 1975 von Roy De Forest für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.453,28) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Roy De Forest auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Steamship of Fate im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 62.341,31).
