Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled, 1978 by Roy De Forest was sold in the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 4,845.00 (€ 4,598.08) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy De Forest achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Steamship of Fate in July 2015 with an auction result of USD 68,750.00 (€ 62,341.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled, 1978 von Roy De Forest wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 4.845,00 (€ 4.598,08) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy De Forest erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Steamship of Fate im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 62.341,31).
