Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings, which included the work Five Character Seal Script Calligraphic Couplet by Rong Geng. It changed hands for a price of HKD 11,250.00 (€ 1,284.60) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rong Geng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scholar Fishing in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 141,600.00 (€ 16,168.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Five Character Seal Script Calligraphic Couplet von Rong Geng zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 11.250,00 (€ 1.284,60) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rong Geng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scholar Fishing im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 141.600,00 (€ 16.168,81).
