The work Calligraphic Couplet in Bronze Script by Rong Geng was worth HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,401.98) to a buyer in November 2017. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 15,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rong Geng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scholar Fishing, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 141,600.00 (€ 16,168.81).

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 15.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Rong Geng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scholar Fishing beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 141.600,00 (€ 16.168,81) versteigert wurde.
