Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ronald Caringal could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in June 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work I Scream Sundae changed hands for HKD 3,125.00 (€ 358.94) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ronald Caringal achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Art Gasm in July 2021 with an auction result of HKD 201,600.00 (€ 21,852.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ronald Caringal konnte im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wechselte die Arbeit I Scream Sundae für HKD 3.125,00 (€ 358,94) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ronald Caringal erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Art Gasm im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 201.600,00 (€ 21.852,46).
