Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Of the Blues (Second Chorus): New York: Jimmy & Ray by Romare Bearden was auctioned at Christies in Brussels in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 8,820.00 (€ 10,127.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Romare Bearden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Street in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,109,000.00 (€ 982,546.29).
