Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Opalka 1965/1-∞ Detail-1243401-1246137 by Roman Opalka was sold in the The Curator’s Eye: The Collection of Professor Dr Karin von Maur auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2021. The price achieved of EUR 50,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roman Opalka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work OPALKA 1965/1 - ∞ Détail 185086 – 218302 in May 2021 with an auction result of EUR 1,222,500.00.
