This artwork by Roi Clarkson Coleman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December last year. In the California and Western Art Online auction, the work Sunset Glow, Torrey Pines 9 x 12 in. framed 15 x 18 in. sold for USD 1,083.75 (€ 1,013.04) - well above the upper estimate of USD 600.00. Admittedly, works by Roi Clarkson Coleman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sea Symphony in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 3,760.00 (€ 4,447.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 81 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Roi Clarkson Coleman erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion California and Western Art Online wurde die Arbeit Sunset Glow, Torrey Pines 9 x 12 in. framed 15 x 18 in. für USD 1.083,75 (€ 1.013,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 600,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Roi Clarkson Coleman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sea Symphony im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.760,00 (€ 4.447,07).
