Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sketch For Twin Calves by Roger Medearis was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 875.00 (€ 643.67). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roger Medearis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In The Big Rock Candy Mountains in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 106,250.00 (€ 94,604.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sketch For Twin Calves von Roger Medearis im Oktober 2013 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 875,00 (€ 643,67) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roger Medearis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In The Big Rock Candy Mountains im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 94.604,22).
