Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Studies Of Two Butterflies, Each Seen From Both Top And Bottom by Rochus van Veen was sold in the Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2019. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,547.93) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rochus van Veen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Dead Starling, which sold at auction in January 2012 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 19,152.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Studies Of Two Butterflies, Each Seen From Both Top And Bottom von Rochus van Veen wurde im Januar 2019 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.547,93) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rochus van Veen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Dead Starling beobachtet, die im Januar 2012 für USD 25.000,00 (€ 19.152,69) versteigert wurde.
