Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Two Works On Paper: Two Women And Calcáreo by Roberto Burle Marx. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,187.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roberto Burle Marx achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grande Naturaleza Morta in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 158,500.00 (€ 110,253.20).
