Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin America: Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Abstract by Roberto Burle Marx. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,499.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roberto Burle Marx - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grande Naturaleza Morta, which sold at auction in May 2011 for USD 158,500.00 (€ 110,253.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin America: Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abstract von Roberto Burle Marx zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.499,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Roberto Burle Marx mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grande Naturaleza Morta beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für USD 158.500,00 (€ 110.253,20) versteigert wurde.
