A top price for Robert Scott Duncanson - as previously expected
The work The Garden of Eden by Robert Scott Duncanson was sold in the Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in May 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 343,500.00 (€ 291,942.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Garden of Eden is the most expensive artwork by Robert Scott Duncanson that we have observed at auctions so far.
