In March 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work The Drama by Robert Philipp. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,250.00 (€ 7,118.00), 61% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Philipp - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Interior Of The Metropolitan Museum, which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 28,000.00 (€ 19,353.06).

Im März 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Drama von Robert Philipp zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 7.118,00) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Philipp mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Interior Of The Metropolitan Museum beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 28.000,00 (€ 19.353,06) versteigert wurde.
