In July 2007 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Study of two donkeys (illustrated); Study of cows; and Study of rams by Robert Hills. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 480.00 (€ 712.91), 60% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Robert Hills have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Herd of Deer Resting In A Glade in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,346.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study of two donkeys (illustrated); Study of cows; and Study of rams von Robert Hills zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 480,00 (€ 712,91) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Hills auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Herd of Deer Resting In A Glade im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.346,11).
