Sold at the upper estimate price
In October 2005 Christies in London held the auction WATERCOLOURS OF THE GRAND TOUR FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTION, which included the work The Hôtel des Invalides, Paris (illustrated); and View of Nemours by Robert Henry Cheney. The auction ended at the price of GBP 600.00 (€ 884.82), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Henry Cheney have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A panoramic view of the Farnesina and the city of Rome in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 4,182.50 (€ 6,469.38).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion WATERCOLOURS OF THE GRAND TOUR FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTION durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Hôtel des Invalides, Paris (illustrated); and View of Nemours von Robert Henry Cheney zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 600,00 (€ 884,82) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Henry Cheney auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A panoramic view of the Farnesina and the city of Rome im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.182,50 (€ 6.469,38).
