Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work London, 1951–1952 by Robert Frank for USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,899.50). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs Including Property Sold to Benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Frank achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trolley - New Orleans, 1955 in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 663,750.00 (€ 504,062.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit London, 1951–1952 von Robert Frank für USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.899,50) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs Including Property Sold to Benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Frank erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trolley - New Orleans, 1955 im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 663.750,00 (€ 504.062,88).
