Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Robert Frank could be acquired at Bonhams in London in October this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Contact Sheet from 'The Americans' changed hands for USD 11,520.00 (€ 10,900.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Frank achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trolley - New Orleans, 1955 in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 663,750.00 (€ 504,062.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Robert Frank konnte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Contact Sheet from 'The Americans' für USD 11.520,00 (€ 10.900,83) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Frank erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trolley - New Orleans, 1955 im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 663.750,00 (€ 504.062,88).
