In November 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian Street Scene by Robert Dickerson. The result of AUD 12,000.00 (€ 7,317.33) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 12,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Dickerson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Swimmers at the River, 2000 in November 2020 with an auction result of AUD 86,100.00 (€ 72,062.27).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Street Scene von Robert Dickerson zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von AUD 12.000,00 (€ 7.317,33) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 12.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Dickerson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Swimmers at the River, 2000 im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 86.100,00 (€ 72.062,27).
