Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Isaac Robert Cruickshank could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations auction, the work Study of an eye; Two lovers; "How late you are John I thought you would never come"; "No business done here on the Sunday"; "Gracious me Belinda there's a bustle"; Portrait of a lady; The Duke of Wellington on the river; "A Treasury of modern ballads changed hands for GBP 235.00 Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isaac Robert Cruickshank achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Laplanders, Reindeer &c. as Exhibited at the Egyptian Hall, Piccadilly. 1822.; and The Laplanders Return, to their Native Country under the Care of Mr Bullock & His Son. in September 2007 with an auction result of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 5,018.74).
