Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2003 Christies in London held the auction THE IRISH SALE, which included the work Grotto on the Maharees by Robert Bates. The price achieved of GBP 470.00 (€ 654.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Other works by Robert Bates have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2003 the work Returning to the Valley of Vision was auctioned for GBP 728.50 (€ 1,055.32).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 470,00 (€ 654,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden.
